Thursday last week we left Perth bound for our new home Newcastle. 3950kms in 6 days. That was our goal. We crossed three states, and had 4 time changes (inland WA is 45mins later than the WA coast). We saw emus, wild goats, and lots of lizards attempting to cross the highway. We drove through 60km/hr wind gusts near Broken Hill, and saw more beautiful wildflowers. We went 3 days without a shower, camping on the sides of the roads. We had our weirdest dinner; 2 min noodles, a few slices of cheese, and some yoghurt. We made our first 4:30am noise complaint to the police while staying in a van park in Broken Hill. We listened to Macca in the Morning on ABC radio, and were surprised to get phone reception most of the way across NSW. We found the drive across the Nullaboor not too boring, and the most scenic the final 350kms of the whole journey. We basically drove, ate and slept. And we FINALLY made it to our new home after 6 days of driving!!
Stay posted... there is one more blog to come!
